INDIAN AIRPORT STRIKE

Indian airport workers called off a four-day anti-privatization strike on Saturday 04 Feb 2005 that had created chaos at India’s top airports. Flights continued at India’s two major airports during the strike, but other than that the airports were a mess.
Nearly 23,000 members of the state-run Airports Authority of India declared an indefinite strike over the move to bring in private companies to take over and modernize the shabby, run-down airports.
Normal business was resumed on Monday, February 6 and we are still experiencing minimal backlog

SUEZ CANAL REOPENING

The Suez Canal reopened Friday after tug boats moved a cargo ship which blocked the canal on Wednesday.
The 93,000-metric ton Hong Kong-flagged Okal King Dor drifted from its path and became wedged across the canal as it traveled from the Red Sea to the Med. 7.5% of global maritime trade passes through Suez.
