October
3, 2002, Sunrise, FL USA-World Cargo Alliance, the worlds largest network
of independent freight forwarders announced today that its Sunrise Florida
headquarters has
successfully implemented
the Quality Management and Quality Systems Elements Guidelines of ISO 9004-2000,
becoming the first and only such organization to become ISO certified.
"At World Cargo Alliance, we take a great deal of pride in offering our
members superior programs that will bring both professional and financial benefit,
administered with care and a strong dedication to quality," explained David
L. Yokeum, WCAs President and Founder. "WCA member programs are contructed
with a solid understanding of the value concept, and with a constant review and
self-monitoring process to ensure that procedural concerns are addressed and
adhered to. On the belief that quality procedures will positively impact the
value delivered to customers (WCA members), we take very seriously the manner
in which we manage our activities."
Mark Mairowitz, the networks Vice President further indicated that "as
WCA management has recognized that performance excellence is a process of continuous
and perpetual search for improvement, WCA has also decided to adopt and implement
a formal quality management system in its new Bangkok Thailand Asia Regional
Office which will become ISO certified before the year is over."
"WCA is justifiably proud of this accomplishment, and we are very aware
that no other independent forwarder network has been able to take this step," Mr.
Yokeum said. "Unlike many others, our group is all about action. We have
been able to put in place many of the value-added services that make membership
in a network truly invaluable. Our programs, such as All World Shipping, the
WCA-affiliated FMC-approved NVOCC, our Gold Medallion member-to-member payment
guarantee program, and TradeAid/CostAid, the exclusive innovative
rate quotation and freight cost retreival software, are widely supported by the
WCA membership. While many networks stand on their laurels, complacently collecting
membership dues and largely neglecting the needs of their members, we are always
striving to bring something more to the table, enhancing the services we can
offer WCA member-forwarders."
