The White House announced today that a trade agreement has been reached with the United Kingdom. Although the reciprocal 10% tariff on most U.K. imports will stay in place, both nations have agreed to negotiate an "alternative arrangement" concerning the Section 232 tariffs on aluminum and steel.

The trade agreement enhances U.S. market access in the United Kingdom, opening up a $5 billion export opportunity for American farmers, ranchers, and producers. In return, the first 100,000 vehicles exported annually to the U.S. by U.K. automakers will face only the reciprocal 10% tariff, while any vehicles beyond that threshold will be subject to a 25% tariff.
