25% Additional Duties on Imports from India Removed

The White House released executive order Modifying Duties to Address Threats to the United States by the Government of the Russian Federation Friday night to eliminate the additional 25% tariff on imported products from India. The 25% tariff was originally imposed because it was determined that India directly or indirectly imported oil from Russia.

Effective with respect to goods entered for consumption or withdrawn from a warehouse for consumption on or after Friday, February 7th (12:01 am ET), products of India are no longer subject to the additional 25% duty. As a result, HTS codes 9903.01.84 through 9903.01.89 are no longer valid.

The executive order does not mention a reduction in the 25% IEEPA reciprocal tariffs imposed on products of India.
